On the one hand there’s a feeling that we are climbing up towards the downhill run of Covid here. Vaccines are not happening much, but the virus is slowing down nevertheless. On the other hand, we continue to see more and more people battling from the long months of limited income, exhausted from insecurity, and burdened with unwavering fear of mañana.
It is a privilege to be here to encourage them, share Christ with them, and help them with some of their basic needs. You help make this possible.
Margarita thanks you. The first time we met she was on the street in front of our house yelling, “Marcos”—some folks consider that more polite than knocking on the door. She has 3 kids, 10 months to 8 years old. Señor Hubby took off, Margarita is stranded and afraid. Someone told her, “Marcos can help.”
Uriel thanks you. He has been bedridden for two years now with Guillain Barré syndrome—my understanding is that one’s immune system attacks the nervous system. No fun at all.
Rubi thanks you. Her house—like London Bridge—was falling down. After we sent out an invitation to help Rubi, you generously responded and we received the funds needed for a new house for Rubi and her son with special needs.
We thank you for caring about what God is doing in this little corner of the world. We appreciate that you have eyes and compassion for others, not just those in your own context.
Unprofitable servants are we, we have only done that which was our duty to do. (Luke 17.10)
