When I clicked the computer this morning I received the first of several messages and warnings of violence in the air for our little section of the woods, this weekend (today is Saturday). There have been roadblocks, car fires, and other violence (see video below).
I open up to very reliable Ps 91:
“You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day…
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you…
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent…
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.”
One of my morning messages suggested I should forego my morning prayer walk.
Others suggest it is time to flee. We’ve faced plenty of dangers in our 50 or so years of ministry, and haven't fled yet.
"Should such a man as I, flee?” (Neh 6.11)
