Here are some other things in our life and ministry, and because experience has taught us that they work best when our friends are praying, we share them with you…
The Porvenir church. I stopped being the pastor (and stepped out of leadership) 21 months ago (Jan 1, 2021). Our son Oliver is doing one fine job, the church is on solid ground. But nothing is easy!
Those sent out. When I stopped being pastor, we had five missionary units in the field plus another two doing church plants locally. They are all moving forward, God is doing wonderful things but there have been sundry trials, with emotional swings up and down, and financial challenges all around for them. I ask for prayer for these seven works, and for those on the front lines in them.
Our adoption journey. We have been tangled in rojo tape for six years, trying to adopt Rachel (17) and Rajim (14) who have both been with us since birth! Seems like it keeps getting put off until “mañana.” That breeds insecurity in these two lovely teens.
Daily vlog. I'm not doing it to entertain the troops but to challenge them. We ask that God’s Spirit touch people and get them off their butt! (should I rephrase that?)
Bible School. I teach one class a week l and do not seek that heads be filled with knowledge, but for hearts to thirst for holiness, hands be yearning to serve, feet be desiring beauty.
Wisdom. I am regularly invited to participate in some “interesting” situations. Experience helps, but what I most need is the Lord to speak to me as I guide, or give counsel.
Paul told one church that their friend with the odd name was working hard, praying for them. He said: “Epaphras… is always laboring fervently for you in prayers.”
Thanks for being there for us, and always laboring for us in your prayers.
