I met Jorge three decades ago, when we were hosting youth rallies in Ensenada. Now in his forties, Jorge serves on the pastoral team of an excellent church in Tijuana.
Jorge recalls how he came to live in Ensenada: “When I was 10 years old, my dad left our home in southern Mexico to attempt to get across the USA border. He travelled a couple of thousand miles north only to get caught while crossing, and never make it to California."
"My dad's money ran out, so when he heard of a job opportunity in Ensenada, he took the chance, got the job, and settled there. About three years later, he sent for me and two of my siblings. We had been in Ensenada a short time when I met this crazy guy, with an exotic family. That was you, Marcos."
Meeting you changed my life.
"I became friends with Jason, John, Paul, Oliver and Moises, and spent time at your house. Seeing how you lived, and being embraced by you and Veronica, left an impression. I grew up attending those epic youth rallies, and with you as a mentor."
Its because of my teen years under your wing that I am now in full-time ministry
"You will always be an inspiration to me. I have known you for over 30 years, and just as you impacted my life that very first night I met you at a youth rally, you continue to be a man who inspires me to love God, believe in God, and leave all else by the wayside to follow God."
We take no credit for our role in Jorge's faith and ministry. The work is the Lord’s, and He is the one who makes all things come together for good.
Your support has helped make it possible for us to be in Mexico these 50 plus years with a front row seat to the miracle of Jesus changing the lives and future of people like Jorge.
