We think of the loud thunderous glaring gongs of sin—“big things” like sex, drugs, abuse, perversion, murder.


But Peter starts off chapter two with five subtly slimy subversions [1 Peter 2.1]:

So put away malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy and envy and slander.

Five things that mostly want to harbor in my heart or spill out of my mouth.
