Verse thirteen catches my attention in the ESV:

“Therefore, preparing your minds for action…”

Sounds like God is saying, “talk yourself into getting off your laurels and get busy in my kingdom.” [1 Peter 1.13}

King James puts is this way, “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind.” I dunno, somehow that sounds a bit gross.

The always-loved MSV is blunt as always, “Get your head on straight, and get off your butt, there’s work to be done.”

Plain and simple.
