No molded ugly

I am going to grab my King Jimmy for verse 14, he shoots really straight.

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance…

I hope I qualify for those first three words,

“As obedient children.”

I am glad he did not say, “Those of you who are obedient children…” because then I would have to decide if what follows pertains to me or not. Perhaps I would not even read on.

I am comforted to know that those things I used to do when people thought I was one cool dude, I was doing in ignorance.

But now things are different.

I am not ignorant.

And I have both (1) the ability to make a decision and (2) the power within to bring that decision to full bloom,

to not fashion myself, with those old habits,

to not be conformed [ESV] to them,

to no let me be molded ugly [MSV].

No ignorance anymore.

No powerlessness anymore.

This is all so much cooler than before.
