Here and there

Matthew nine is a “here and there” chapter. Each of the seven stories in this opens with someone coming or going:

  • Verse 1: Jesus getting into a boat.

  • Verse 9: Jesus passed on from there

  • Verse 14: Disciples of John coming to Him.

  • Verse 18: Jairus came in and knelt before Him.

  • Verse 27: Jesus passed on.

  • Verse 32: Two healed blind men were going away. 9

  • Verse 35: Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages.
