A trusty combo

Updated: Oct 20

The recipients of Peter’s letter were persecuted followers of Jesus. 1 Peter 5.12 sums up his “brief letter” reminding us that this is the true grace of God.

I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.

The five chapters of advice he has given us to make it through the tough times, is the true grace of God.  And, since he has told us it isn’t easy, he adds, “Stand firm in it.” That is the long and short of his letter: Hold fast and stand strong!

We already know that after we have suffered, the God of grace will help us out (1P 5.10).

Firm in faith; firm in grace.

It’s a trusty combo.
